Churchill:) Conclusion

Well we went to Churchill and the suckiest part there was, (no not the cold) the trip to get there and back. While we were there we went in  helicopter ride and we saw huge seals sunbathing. (Or trying to.) We saw some huge moose. One of them was really old. And we saw lots of polar bears. We saw a polar bear with a cub but most of them were lying on the ground doing nothing.

Some facts about polar bears.   They do not hibernate , they do something called walking hibernation. (Done normally during June - November.) It's where they walk around and if they find a good place to sleep, they sleep there for a couple days then move onto another spot. Cubs are born around December, January. They build a small den under the perma frost where they give birth. They come out in March to go onto the ice with their cubs because that is when there is easy killings because that is when the seal pups come out.

We went on a bus tour called Nature 1st. We saw the Polar Bear Jail,  and we went to a dog farm and we saw a polar bear wondering around. Here a some pics. We also went on the tundra buggy (a big bus with HUGE wheels) we saw some polar bears but they were far away. At the dog farm where we saw the polar bear there is a video to go along with it. It's cool!!!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JE-Nyt4Bmi8

Churchhill Part 1

Tomorrow we are going to Churchill, Manitoba to Polar Bears. A friend in my class has relatives there, in fact like half the town is her reletives. To get we have to do two days driving to get to Thomposon, Manitoba. From there we hope on a train to get to Churchill. You can't drive there, the only way to get there is by train. While we are there we will go in a thing called a tundra buggy where we will hopefully see polar bears up close. And we will go in a helicopter to see polar bears from up high. We will definletly see polar bears in the chopper or money back. I will tell you if we see polar bears in my next blog. Churchill conclusion.

The weather

The weather has been really strange lately because on Friday it was 30 degrees celcius then on Satuday it was about 20 degrees windy. Then yesterday it was horrible  because it was wet and windy and it was about 8 degrees. Right now it is 2 degrees outside.

Cell Phones

A study shows that if you have a cell phone you are better connected to your family. It's called an a electrtonic leash. If you go to the park and you don't have a cell phone how can they contact you if you need to go somewhere. With a cell phone they can contact you without walking to the park.

I don't have a cell phone but I want one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's the question. Do you think kids 12 and up should have one???????

Volleyball Match

Our first volleyball match was yesterday against Prince Aurthor. We played 5 sets and we lost all of them. It was fun though.

About me
As athletes, we're used to reacting quickly. Here, it's 'come, stop, come, stop.' There's a lot of downtime. That's the toughest part of the day.
